1x bottle of this excellent Pouilly-Fuisse, from one of the best terroirs in the appellation, in absolutely pristine condition.

'Outer quote mark From old vines growing in schist soils, the 2016 Pouilly-Fuissé La Croix Vieilles Vignes spent fully 30 months on the lees, so it's only just being released. Unwinding in the glass with complex aromas of ripe pears, toasted nuts, smoke, warm bread and vanilla pod, it's full-bodied, fleshy and textural, with lovely underlying tension and a chalky, delicately oak-inflected finish. This Pouilly-Fuissé has turned out very well and stylistically somewhat resembles Domaine Valette's wines of the early 1990s (which were much less oxidative in style than their wines today). 'Outer quote mark Moderate reduction masks everything except a whiff of exotic fruit so I would strongly advise decanting this for 15 to 30 minutes first. There is excellent volume to the concentrated, intense and muscular large-scaled flavors that possess impressive drive on the austere and built-to-age finale.
