Description

Nicolas Potel runs Maison Roche de Bellene, a micro-négoce with an emphasis on individual terroirs and old vines - 40 years or older- that are farmed responsibly. The growers he works with are either organic certified or farming according to the principles of lutte raisonée (sustainable viticulture).

Meursault is the largest village of the Côte de Beaune, with a history of wine growing that dates back to the Romans. Its white wines are softer and richer than those of Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet.

This wine is from sustainably farmed vines planted in 1947 on clay and limestone soil. The bottle being sold is number 4437 from a cuvee of 9568 bottles. The grapes were picked by hand on 16th September 2009, and after fermenting using native yeast, the wine was aged in 40% new French oak. It was bottled on 3rd February 2011.

The bottle, label and capsule are in good condition as shown, and the colour of the wine looks good. The level is very good.
