Founded in 1926, Maison Louis Picamelot is nowadays one of the oldest Crémant wine houses in Burgundy and is distinguished by its deep attachment to the terroirs.

Bourgogne Mousseux is an appellation for sparkling red wine from Burgundy. Some examples may seem more like rosé from their color, however. The Bourgogne Mousseux title and its production laws were established in March 1943

Like the still white Bourgogne Aligoté and red Bourgogne Passe-tout-grains, this style has its own individual appellation, rather than being treated simply as a subsidiary of the Bourgogne or Crémant de Bourgogne AOPs. The latter is reserved for white and rosé wines.

The primary grape varieties used in Bourgogne Mousseux wines are Pinot Noir and Gamay Noir.

The wine has a little sediment.
