The 2000 Pinot Gris "Hugel" Jubilee has extremely smoky aromatics. This rich, fat, peach, mineral, apricot, and smoke-flavored wine is silky-textured and medium-bodied. Layer upon layer of sultry fruit conquers the taster's palate. Its forward, almost opulent personality is surprising given Hugel's track record of making wines that are normally reserved in their youth. Drink it over the next 9 years.

The 2000 Riesling "Hugel" Jubilee reveals sweet herbal tea and minerals in its boisterous aromatics. This is a fresh, lively , plump wine with excellent palate presence. It is medium-bodied, bright, loaded with candied lemons, and has a delightfully flavorful and long finish. Drink it over the next 7-8 years.
