Description

2 superb examples of this wonderful Italian sweet red from cracking vintages and great producers.

3 x Santa Sofia Recioto Della Valpolicella 2001

This is maturing beautifully and is probably at the begining of it;s peak drinking window - pale garnet in colour it is full of all the dark cherry and red fruit you would epect from such a good producer. Port-like sweetness but without the overpowering alcohol or the heavy mouthfeel. Not available in the UK for retail as far as I can tell, European pricing puts this at about £25 or so retail.

3 x Masi Casal dei Ronchi Seregro Alighieri Recioto della Valpolicella 2004

Super vintage for the region and of course a superb and globally recognised producer. This is much fuller and more robiust than the Santa Sofia and will probably need further cellaring to realise it's full potential

Lowest UK retail is just over £30

Please note these are 50cl bottles, not halves

These have been stored in my professional temperature and humidity controlled storage unit since purchase.
