Description

One bottle of this wine, bought in August 2007 from the Wine Society and properly cellared in an underground cellar since then.

The bottle on sale is the one in the photographs and is in good condition. The front label and slip label are good save for one slight mark on the front label. The back label is slightly scuffed at the top. I can see no evidence of any seepage or issues with cork or capsule.

Wine-searcher suggests the most recent global price is £185 ex tax per bottle.

A couple of reviews from Cellartracker:

8/26/2022 - SimonS wrote: 92 Points ".....this bottle was singing. I loved it. Fully mature to be sure, but lovely brambly fruit along with a bit of leather and hint of toffee. C still thought it was too acidic, but for me it was ideal with food."

5/21/2021 - chatters wrote: "Coravin fun - Burgundy & Bordeaux (KC s place): From Coravin. Sous bois, very slight dusty notes, baking spices, old black berry, leather, earth, with time the fruit gains weight. Surprisingly fruit sweet on the palate, a little raw silk rasp on the mid palate. Sous bois and leather join on the finish. Pleasant."

4/16/2021 - HowardNZ Likes this wine: 93 Points. Two Fourriers side-by-side: Both bottles well cellared since bought on release. Served double blind to friends. Most tasters picked the 2002 as a red Burgundy, with most guessing later vintages (2004, 2007 or 2008, with someone suggesting 1999). Fading garnet colour. Gorgeous mature pinot bouquet. Perfumes of dry brushwood, red rose, dried herbs, red cherries and some strawberries, with touches of preserved red fruit. On palate, poignant, evolved and fragile, tottering on the edge of extinction, near the end of its drinking plateau. Fully resolved. The fruit just beginning to slip. Acids prominent with succulent, crystalline fresh and preserved red cherries and berries. About half of the tasters preferred each of the two wines. My preferred wine....."
