Description

One bottle of this exceptional wine. I have owned this bottle for a long time, and it has been properly cellared and not disturbed since purchase until now. The bottle on sale is the one on the photographs-it is my only bottle of this wine. The label is in decent condition and the level is well into the neck.

Some reviews:
Allen Meadows – Burghound:
Wonderfully complex nose of plumy, intensely earthy fruit infused with subtle notes of truffle and dried herbs leading to bright, vibrant, medium weight, round and extremely pure flavors that are utterly delicious and seductive. The finish is solidly structured, rich, extremely elegant and pure with outstanding precision. I very much like this as it's stylish yet with real substance. (1/2003)

Jancis Robinson
Broad, relatively light, but very well balanced, racy and appetising. Taffeta texture
with very fine-grained tannins. Quite convincing. Hints of coffee bean. (1/2003)

John Gilman writes in View from the Cellar: "The 2001 Clos des Ruchottes is tight and young, but offers up very good potential. The nose delivers a complex and youthful blend of cherries, woodsmoke, cocoa powder, herb tones, minerals and cedar. On the palate the wine is medium-full, focused and tangy, with lovely shape and intensity, fine terroir, and good length on the moderately tannic finish." (05/2007)

An outstanding wine that surprised on the upside. The nose is sublime and brings you back to the glass over and over. The flavors are complete and harmonious but evidencing a cooler vintage. 97 points for the nose and 94 for the palate imo.

Quite good and enjoyable. Features tasty faded strawberry red fruits and classic Vosne spices with a firm tone of bight acid. Perhaps a bit more mature then expected, but remained regal.

Very complex and layered on the nose - spices, red and dark berry fruit, mushrooms, earthy notes. Exceptionally well-balanced on the palate with an elegant streak of minerality, gorgeous fruit, gentle spice and a nice tannic backbone lingering in the background. Very complete with a long, intense finish. Superb. 94-96

A wine of elegance and poise. There’s a hint of mossy development and some sweet meat notes. It is plump in the mouth with fresh cherry fruit. It builds through the palate and fans out on the finish.
