Description

One bottle of this wine, which I believe I bought many years ago from the Wine Society and have stored in a proper cellar ever since. The only UK merchant appearing to have this wine is selling it for a very high price per bottle.

The bottle on sale is the one in the photographs and is in decent condition. The capsule is as shown. The label has a couple of minor scuffs on it but is generally good.

Jancis Robinson: "Only mid depth of ruby with a wide pale rim – just very slightly more orange than the 2000. Depth, nuance and sheer vitality on the nose. Wonderful richness and completeness on the palate. For the first time in this backwards vertical we have real substance and some development. This is pretty serious stuff, certainly not relying on simple sweet fruit. Dances and deliberates too. Great balance. Dry finish. (JR) 17.5/20 (9/2007)"

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Moderate ruby/garnet colour with hint of tawny on the rim. The nose is quite attractive: not complex with notes of raspberry, strawberry and a touch of eucalyptus. A masculine, quite tannic palate, racy acidity with notes of raspberry, strawberry, a little peppery, perhaps more farmyardy. Good length an grip, lingers in the mouth longer than others, though lacking the elegance of Clos St. Jacques. Tasted July 2006. (NM-Wine Journal) (7/2006)"
