Description

Wonderful Cotes du Rhone from the Domaine Roche-Audran in the Visan area west of Gigondas. Intensely fleshy, generous and full-bodied red packed with mulberry spice and damson fruit. Grenache 70% , Syrah 15%, Carignan 15%.
The highly motivated and energetic Vincent Rochette is only in his early 30?s but has already made a name for himself for his superbly sculpted Visans and Cotes du Rhones. He owns land in both the communes of Visan and Buisson and this diversity of terroirs largely explains the extraordinary complexity in his wines. Very careful selection is carried out in the vineyards and in the winery and minimum intervention is used during the fermentation and ageing processes.
Stunning is a word that can easily be over-used but it is hard to think of another word for the quality. His organic, bio-dynamic wines have an additional depth to them and exhibit a purity of fruit and ripeness which manifests itself in the wines' silky texture as much as its flavours.
