Description

Chris Ringland stands if not at, certainly very near the summit of world Shiraz wine making. RPJ places him in the same league as Guigal and Chapoutier. And whilst he has his hand in several projects, it is with his own name Chris Ringland Shiraz where he sets the highest mark.nnThe grapes are hand-picked from his 100 year old vines in the Eden valley, high above the Barossa valley floor. The cooler climate produces a more refined and focused Shiraz with beautifully integrated acids that provide for a long, lingering finish. With no more than a ton an acre and matured in French hogshead barrels for up to 46 months, this is a work of art.nnA beautiful bouquet of crushed rocks, white flowers, blueberries, blackberries and incense is followed by a rich, full-bodied red revealing supple tannins as well as tremendous texture and richness. In cooler years, subtle pepper scents will appear. Full-bodied yet remarkably well-delineated and fresh, these wines will evolve for decades.nnRated 96/100 by Robert Parker Wine Advocate, and a total production run of 1300 bottles, this is one rare gemnnPacked in individual presentation boxes and purchased direct from the estate and shipped in bond to the UK.nnPlease note the bottle number shown is representative only
