Lot 63

Chateau Haut-Brion Premier Cru Classe, Pessac-Leognan - In Bond, 1949

Lot Image in unavailable
Arrow

Description

Levels MS/TS, capsule lightly corroded, cork unexposed, label bin-soiled. Good colour.

Still very deep and fairly intense; relatively low key nose (compared to Mouton), touch of honey; a wine of great power with the end taste of singed heather (and I should know, I was bought up on the Yorkshire moors) (Michael Broadbent MW, 1998). Michael Broadbent's Vintage Wine: 50 Years of Tasting the World's Finest Wines, 2002

This forms part of a significant collection of distinguished Bordeaux. Sourced by a reputable UK merchant from trusted European suppliers and all purchased between 2019-2020 after which these were stored at LCB. Carefully inspected by Dreweatts, the wine shows fine and correct colour, firm corks, and well-preserved condition.
