Caro 2004 (ERP 93 pts), 1 x 75cl
The 2004 Caro is a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Malbec. It was aged for 18 months in French oak, 80% new. Purple-colored, it has a classy perfume of wood smoke, spice box, pencil lead, black currant, and black cherry. Medium to full-bodied, the wine is elegantly styled with a smooth texture and silky tannins. The fruit has excellent depth and concentration. It should evolve for 4-6 years and drink well through 2025. Bodegas Caro is a joint project of Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) and Nicolas Catena.

Catena Zapata Cabernet Sauvignon Alta 2004 (ERP 93pts), 1 x 75cl
The 2004 Alta Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced and blended from three vineyards with distinct terroirs and aged for 18 months in new French oak. It offers greater aromatic complexity with elements of pain grille, scorched earth, espresso, black currant, and blackberry liqueur. Medium-bodied, it has the elegance of a classified growth St.-Julien, with intense, spicy, cassis, mint, and black fruit flavors, superb balance, and a 45-second, pure finish. It will profit from 6-8 years of further cellaring and drink well through 2030.

Catena Zapata Catena Alta Malbec 2007 (ERP 92pts), 2 x 75cl
The 2007 Alta Malbec is a glass-coating opaque purple color with an inviting perfume of balsam wood, clove, cinnamon, lavender, black cherry and black raspberry. More structured and with greater density and aging potential than the “regular” bottling, it can be cellared for 5-7 years and will provide a drinking window extending from 2013 to 2022.
