Description

I have been recently made redundant so at the moment going through a clear out of stuff in order to raise some much needed funds!

I bought a few cases of some very vintage rioja from a wine auction in March and because of Covid it took over 3 months to be delivered from the Bonded Warehouse.

I am planning to sell a few bottles of each case but plan to keep the majority to drink as I am a massive rioja fan and been there many times.

This is a pretty rare bottle of Carlos Serres Carlomagno from the probably the best and considered legendary 1964 vintage. 1964 is universally as well as by many leading wine critics considered to be the 'vintage of the century ' in Rioja, with great longevity.

The bottle is in very good condition for its age of over 55 years with great fill-level, a good label with a slight tear and some wear.

This a rarer bottling that was produced exclusively for Casa Armendariz which is gives a slightly different label to the standard 1964 Carlomagno which usually has the year the label higher up near the neck of the bottle where this near the bottom.
